Hey there, I’m Corey Hobson, a passionate Lead UX/UI Designer with a knack for crafting immersive experiences in the dynamic world of the gaming industry. Currently, I proudly serve as a Lead UX/UI Designer at Motorsport Games, where I’ve been orchestrating the intersection of user-centric design and the thrill of virtual racing.
My creative compass is calibrated to a mix of data-driven insights and daring exploration. I firmly believe in rapid prototyping and perpetual iteration, drawing inspiration from both internal and external tests to sculpt products that resonate with users.
I’m not your run-of-the-mill pixel perfectionist; I’m the designer who thrives on bold ideas and swift experimentation. I firmly believe in standing on the shoulders of giants, leveraging industry best practices and cutting-edge innovations to fuel my creativity. My fascination with film, once rooted in camera angles and perspectives, has seamlessly fused with my love for gaming, enabling me to craft holistic user experiences that excite and engage.
My journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in communication and multimedia design, specializing in game design. With a diverse background spanning both games companies and SaaS enterprises, I’ve worn the hat of a UX Designer and have now proudly taken up the mantle of a Lead, guiding teams toward creating exceptional user experiences.
In my current role at Motorsport Games, I embarked on an exhilarating journey into the sim-racing world. With no prior experience in this domain, I embraced the challenge of creating an online system that not only fosters community but also elevates player engagement and retention. This system, adaptable for multiple games, is set to revolutionize the gaming landscape, with its implementation planned across three upcoming releases.
On the personal front, I’ve traversed continents and cultures, living in the UK, Canada, the USA, and currently, I’m nestled in the Netherlands. As a British soul with a penchant for cinematic wonder, my favorite film remains “Finding Neverland.”
